The upgrade of an item allows players to boost the gear score of an item up to 700 and also add a final perk. Items can be upgraded by keeping them in inventory before heading to the kiln.

Certain items can be upgraded for their unique stats (like an ideally made breakpoint armour that can be rolled to use in melee PvP) while other items, such as weapons don't change much post upgrade, and therefore aren't worth upgrading.

Weapons

Upgrades to weapons can increase their numerical stats, such as attack damage, crit chance and PvE/PvP damage. Weapons also have a flat bonus that increases the damage they deal per second. In addition, many weapons have an added bonus that is activated when three or more of the same weapon is present on a single unit. In some cases this bonus could amount to more than the amount of damage a weapon can sustain by itself.

The cost of upgrading a weapon is contingent on its rarity as well as its current level. For example an item with a rating of +2 will require two regular Smithing Stones to upgrade while a +3 requires four. The number of stones required to upgrade a weapon will increase until it requires more Smithing Stones. At that point it will reset to one.

Upgrading weapons will also reroll their base stats. While  item upgrader  is generally a good thing however, it could have negative consequences as well. For items that only see use in a specific build (Whistant's shield for FB sorcs for instance), upgrading them may render them useless unless you happen to have an extremely lucky roll.

Armor items can also be upgraded to boost their stats. This will increase the defense of a helm or chest as well as belts and gloves. These can boost their strength and agility. Armor has a rerolling feature for its Enhanced Defense%. This means that it may roll down to a lower value.

The upgrade template for a weapon will display the new stats that it will get when upgraded, along with their respective values. This means that the weapon will gain 33% attack damage when it is upgraded from an 8 attack damage sword to an 11 attack damage sword. The 3% does not mean that the weapon will strike 3 times less, as it is an absolute number.

Rerolling a weapon is also possible by pressing the green button on the item menu, using the circling arrows. This will roll an item and alter its stats, but it will not reset the weapon's levels or connect it to an account's status.

Armor

Making a few improvements to your armor can make an enormous difference in your capacity to withstand. Certain sets provide massive boosts to poison, curse, fire and magic resistance, which can make it easier to navigate through tough terrain. The more defense your character has the more value you get from every point of health and it's crucial to improve your armor as much as you can.

You can upgrade your armor by visiting one of the Great Fairy Fountains. There are four Great Fairy Fountains within the game and to unlock each fountain, you have to complete an additional quest involving the Stable Trotters. After you've completed the main quest, and the corresponding fountains, you'll be able to talk to any Great Fairy in order to unlock the menu for upgrading armor.

The amount of materials required to upgrade each piece of armor is different. In general, you'll be looking at anything from three to ten Red Chuchu jellies and 10 Rupees for the initial upgrade, and then anywhere from five Rubies and 10 Fire-Breath Lizalfos Horns for each subsequent upgrade. For instance, the Champion Leathers can be upgraded to +5 defense, allowing you to keep pace with a good-sized group of adversaries in most cold climates, and the Snowquill Headdress can be upgraded all the way to +20 defense, granting you enough protection to survive an entire raid with a handful of friends.

Be aware that armor can't be upgraded in the same manner as weapons, so you'll want to focus on enhancing it to increase physical power if you're a Warrior or Spell Power when you're a Mage. It is recommended to save your armor upgrades to upgrade the armor you'll still be wearing by the end of the story, such as the Ring of Lightning, Spectral Shield or the mask you'll wear in the final boss fight the Monter Parts Merchant Mask.

You can also gain perks for your armor by presenting the jeweler in Gerudo Town 10 Twinkling Titanite. In general, you should save these upgrades for the weapon you'll be using to beat the game, such as the Longsword, Battleaxe or Warhammer however, it could be useful to have some upgrades of the chest armor and helmets to permit you to sneak past some monsters.

Potions

Potions are liquids that when consumed by the player, provide the player with a temporary effect for a short period of time. There are five kinds of potions that have different effects and durations. Some potions may be upgraded, enhancing their effectiveness. In addition, the effects of some potions can be enhanced by adding glowstone dust or redstone to the potions.

Potion upgrades cost a specific amount of XP, which can be earned by crafting them using a craft table or in an Alchemist's chest. However, the upgrade price will vary based on the type of potion you'd like to upgrade, as well as on the item's Mark Level and rarity.

To upgrade a potion you need to right-click it in your inventory. Then select "Upgrade" from the menu. This will open an GUI which allows you to select the potions that you wish to upgrade, and the amount of experience they'll offer when upgraded. Upgrades to potions can be made in batches of up to five at a single time, and the XP they earn will be added to your current XP count.

Once a poton is upgraded and stored, it will not degrade unless you use it again or break the bottle in which it is kept. You can also rename the potion by clicking it in your inventory.

There were some changes to the mechanics of potion in version 1.7.2. Splash potions, for example, now have a duration that is 0:08 instead of 22.5 seconds that are displayed on the hover display for the item. The table for potion can now be made using four Wood Planks and two Glass. This allows it to be utilized by players in Survival and Bedrock. Bedrock Edition potions aren't compatible with cauldrons, unlike Java Edition. Similarly, using a potion on a full cauldron drains the potion and refills the bottle.

In addition, there are lingering potions, which are brewed with dragon breath and splash potions. Similarly, a lingering potions' effect is extended by adding redstone. The table of potions is rearranged to look more like the Java Edition. New potions have also been added, like the potion of leaping and decomposition.

Trinkets

A trinket could be a small, inexpensive ornament or piece jewelry. It could also refer to an ornament or object that serves a function but isn't essential, like a thimble. In some cultures, trinkets are used to signify affection or friendship, particularly between family members.

In addition to armor, weapons, and potions, players are able to upgrade their trinkets. Upgrades can be made by paying the appropriate currency to an upgrade vendor. In contrast to other upgrades for items trinkets are able to be traded out at any time without losing their status.

The upgrade vendors are found in major cities and the capital of each zone, and in some cases, dungeons. Upgrades for trinkets can be bought with tokens, gold or fragments of rare trinkets.

Upgrades are a cheaper alternative to buying a brand new trinket. It is possible to upgrade the player for less than 12 tokens. The new trinket will feature the same base ilvl of the previous one, and will include an additional upgrade bonus of 1.

Trinkets can be upgraded once they are no longer needed which allows a player to increase their power and worth over time. They can be traded between players which makes them a good alternative to gold.

In general players should make upgrades to their most important items first. This usually refers to the most valuable-in-slot items for their class, then their secondary items and finally, other pieces of gear that they will not be replacing soon (for example an earring or cloak). When deciding on the items to upgrade, players should also be aware of their class's preferred statistics. If Haste and Crit are two of the most important stats to a tank player then they should consider upgrading their chest, helm and shoulders.

After they've become unusable trinkets can be upgraded to a greater level. The upgraded trinket will give you an additional 1percent bonus. A re-upgrade, however, can cause damage to the trinket unless it can be salvaged with a Black Lion Salvage Kit, or a higher tier salvage tool. Upgrades to trinkets can be more expensive than other upgrades but still less expensive than purchasing new ones.
